Smart, TNT & Sun LTE - Ready Upgrade SIM (2021).

Upgrade your SIM to LTE - Ready, the Smart, TNT & Sun campaign to upgrade their old SIM to LTE connection to fulfill its customers' need in high speed internet connection. The three companies agree to distribute sim cards which include all the three Telco's in one sim card. The sim card is not free but it is cheaper than regular sim.

The cost of LTE upgrade Sim is P10 pesos only. The regular sim will cost you about P30-40 pesos per sim. The upgrade sim is cheaper than buying a new sim card; also you can still use or keep you old sim card number. With this sim card you can upgrade your old 3G sim connection to LTE connection. This means that your connection will not stuck to 3G speeds which only around 384 KBPS, 5 MBPS, 7.2 MBPS to 12 MBPS while in LTE connection which promise to reach around up to 42 MBPS.

By the way, you can also use this LTE-Ready Upgrade SIM in Smart Bro, not tested but SmartBro is also under and part of Smart Communications. And, you can see its logo appears in the SIM card.


What if there is no LTE signal available in the area?

You can still connect to your old 3G data connection. The sim is capable of both signal LTE & 3G connection.



What will happen to my old sim?

Your old sim will not connect to the network after you upgraded to the new LTE-Ready Upgrade SIM. Your old number will transfer to the new sim.



What will happen to my contact list from my old sim?

Your contact list will be still available in your old sim but your network connection will not work. You will receive an error like this "network fails"or "network not available". Don't worry you can still copy your old contacts to the new sim. Just don't throw your old sim.



Now, how do I upgrade my old sim card?

If you have already bought an LTE-Ready Upgrade SIM. Let's get started.


Step 1

Using your current or old sim, text GET PIN to 7927



Step 2

Wait for the PIN. You will enter this once you inserted the LTE-Ready Upgrade SIM in your mobile phone.


You will received a text from Smart like this:

       Your PIN is 1x2yz3 and 
       is valid until
      11/18/18
      08:08pm. Smart Money and Mobile
      Banking are not 
      available on your 
      newly-upgraded SIM. Thank You.

Take note of your PIN.



Step 3

Insert the LTE-Ready upgrade SIM to your mobile phone. It will ask for the PIN that you received from Smart. Press confirm or OK and then restart or turn off your phone.


Step 4

Wait for another SMS notification that your SIM has successfully upgraded.


If your network menu does not appear. Don't worry, still you can use your newly upgraded SIM.


You can still dial its new menu from Smart. Just dial or call *123#


This *123# menu has most of the things you need to know about your SIM promo, new promo, balance, services & etc.
